DEA is used in the manufacture of corrosion inhibitors, surfactants, petroleum demulsifiers and rubber chemicals. It is used as a gas scrubber to remove hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide and in production of wax, polish and coating emulsifiers. Principle derivatives includes ethyleneimine and ethylenediamine.
