Applications:
MEA aqueous solutions are used for gas scrubbing, for example removing carbon dioxide from flue gas. Because MEA in it’s pure commercial form freezes at 10.5 °C aqueous solutions are desirable from a handling point of view. MEA is used as a chemical intermediate in the manufacture of cosmetics, surface-active agents, plasticizing agents and pharmaceuticals.
